Description of Vías Verdes

A recovered green promenade that connects, within Madrid, the districts of Barajas and San Blas. This old railway branch, which was intended to transport fuel to the Barajas airport, is today an urban bike lane widely used by the residents of these neighborhoods in the city of Madrid and the result of a neighborhood action that worked for the defense and recovery of this route to improve the quality of life and mobility. The surroundings of the road have a large green, landscaped and tree-lined area with squares, games for children and adults, walks... and some surprises, such as the tunnel decorated with attractive murals.
