Collaborating entities

This project is an initiative of the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility aimed at increasing the use of existing cycling infrastructure across the national territory for cycling tourism or recreational cycling—although these facilities can also serve everyday mobility needs. Various administrations are promoting such routes and initiatives. However, to date, no tool had consolidated all these resources into a single website. Thus, the goal is to enhance their dissemination and facilitate easy access to information.
Consequently, it is essential to emphasise that this website is the result of collaborative efforts by public administrations across three territorial levels: State, regional, and local. The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility is responsible for coordinating this effort, while the respective promoting administrations for each route have supplied the information on the webpage. Thus, we would like to express our gratitude to all these administrations.
The roles of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food as a promoter of the Natural Paths; the Fundación de los Ferrocarriles Españoles (Spanish Railway Foundation)- F. S. P. ., as manager of the Greenways programme; and the Centro de Coordinación Nacional de las rutas EuroVelo (National EuroVelo routes Coordination Centre) assumed by the Coordinadora en Defensa de la Bicicleta (Bicycle Defence Coordinator - ConBici). The Real Federación Española de Ciclismo (Spanish Royal Cycling Federation- RFEC) has performed the essential task of the technical evaluation of the routes. Lastly, the Centro Nacional de Información Geográfica (National Centre for Geographic Information - CNIG) made the IT tool and the mapping.
NOTE: The role of the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility is to provide information supplied by the administrations promoting the routes—except for details regarding the type of road in certain sections of some routes—making these administrations responsible for the accuracy of the information presented on this page. Similarly, weather conditions or other factors may prevent users from locating the infrastructures as presented or defined on this page at particular times of the year. Neither the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility nor— in most cases—the entities mentioned above are responsible for the maintenance of the cycling infrastructures described.
