Description of Diputación de Cáceres
We enter Extremadura following the Royal Camino de Guadalupe between Cereal and Olivare fields. Used from the Roman era, it acquired great relevance in the thirteenth century, after the construction of the Guadalupe monastery, becoming one of the pilgrimage roads between the religious building and Castilla. After crossing the ex-387, the pastures give way to the municipalities of Villar de Pedroso and Valdelacasa de Tajo. In the first we must stop at the zoomorphic sculpture of the veraco, of vetón origin and marked with a funeral registration in Latin. Here we can also visit the Interpretation Center of the Carnival of Ánimas, Festival of Regional Tourist Interest. In Valdelacasa de Tajo, another veraraca and the La Asunción Church, built between the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries with several styles, among which the Gothic predominates. The Valdelacasa anticline stars the landscape here.
