Description of Caminos Naturales
The natural road Vía Verde del Plazaola is one of the most spectacular green routes in Spain. On horseback between Navarra and Gipuzkoa, his journey runs through the valleys of Larraun and Leitzar, crossed in another time by a modest narrow rail railway that in its origin (1904) transported the iron extracted from the Navarre mines of Plazaola until Andoain, in the province of Gipuzkoa.
Description of Vías Verdes
From the Navarra basin in Pamplona to the most virgin places of Leitzar in Gipuzkoa following the RAR trace. From Plazaola. A green path that is a true natural sanctuary. Among its leafy slopes of Beean and Robles, a small narrow rail railroad serpent tirelessly until its closure in the mid -twentieth century. Today its spectacular path opens to the passage of cyclists and walkers eager for almost virgin natural spaces.
