A stage between bridges, gazpachos and extraordinary natural places | The twenty fifth stage of EuroVelo 8, with 42 km, connects Castalla and wall of Alcoy. It is a transition journey between the regions of L’Alcoià and Comtat. In Castalla we must stop (and mandatory fonda) to taste the gazpacho, made with chicken and corral rabbit. In Cocentaina we can enjoy three coats that host cave paintings and that together with other coats on the Mediterranean coast enjoy the consideration of World Heritage. Within our route we will approach cities such as Alcoy (the "City of the bridges"), one of the most important economic centers in the province of Alicante in the past thanks to powerful industries such as paper. Natural spaces suppose one of the great poles of attraction at this stage, with two natural parks of considerable dimensions: that of Serra Mariola and the Carrascal of the Red Fuente. In the first one highlights the Pou Clar, pools of crystalline waters suitable for the bathroom, while in the second we find different routes adapted for all audiences, with extraordinary views and constructions such as the cavas (known in other places as refuses) aimed at keeping the compacted snow.
