Description of EuroVelo
Earth of holm oaks and pastures. We go through locations like Miranda de Azán. Located on the left, shortly before entering the town, we met Miranda Pico, one of the enclaves of the Historical Route of the Arapiles. It was in this where the seventh French division, under General Thomières, gave Bruces with the third allied division of General Pakenham, thus beginning the pitched battle. If you are a great passionate about history, and especially of military history, you will like to know one of the places of the battle of Arapiles, which was a before and after in the history of Europe of the nineteenth century. We advanced by the Castilian and Leonesa plain dotted by some holm oaks until reaching Morille. This town has a Roman bridge to which the best poets of our 18th century were looked, from whose ropes and ravines they are right to see the unmistakable Torres de Salamanca. From a high level of 1,160 meters, before entering the town, there is a panoramic view of keeping in the retina. In this town, the Center for Promotion and Studies of the Vía de la Plata is dedicated to the dissemination and research of the Cañada Real and the Camino de Santiago. Morille also has the original “Art Cemetery”, in which pieces of recognized artistic value or linked to the avant -garde art are buried. We continue our itinerary and pass through San Pedro de Rozados. It is land of holm oaks and pastures, a propitious framework for the development of a large number of beef heads, especially the native Morucha breed, and also of the livestock -centered livestock. The town is located on a hill and in their hamlet highlight some picturesque houses together with each other. Our stage of today ends at Fueguerroble de Salvatierra. The most prominent monument of the place is its church in Santa María la Blanca, magnificent Gothic construction of the fifteenth century, next to which you can see a careful space with informative panels and several miliaries, funeral tombstones and a stretch of Roman road. Salvatierra Fueguerroble has basic services. Less than six kilometers from the tour is Guijuelo, known for its famous ham with the denomination of origin, which complements the offer.
